The rewards program was begun in 2006 as an
alternative to the traditional trophies and
ribbons.
Members enrolling in this program opt for points
which can be exchanged for merchandise at the
end of show season.
They take no ribbons or trophies from their
classes at the shows, but instead may select
from SCCAHA merchandise which is awarded at the
annual banquet.
Logo items include bridle bags, jackets,
coolers, directors' chairs, garment bags, etc.
in the SCCAHA colors of green and gold. New
items will be added each year. Points are
accumulated in the same way as the year-end
awards, and families or those showing more than
one horse may combine their points if they
choose. Leadline and walk/trot members are
exempt since we know our younger members enjoy
their trophies and ribbons!
The St. Clair County Arabian Horse Association
awards Champion and Reserve Champion titles in
EVERY CLASS that appears on the show bill; e.g.,
a Championship and Reserve are awarded to the
highest point earners in half-Arabian 2 and
under (including any points earned in
Championship classes). High points are also
awarded to the high point mare, stallion, and
gelding; to the top five amateur and the top
five youth; and to the champion equitation
rider. A versatility award is also given (please
see criteria) to recognize our wonderful horses
in a variety of disciplines, including halter,
saddle seat, hunt seat, western, costume, and
show hack. An open high point award is given to
that horse which amasses the highest number of
points in non/youth and non/amateur competition.
All in all, there is something for everyone at
our annual awards banquet.
