Message from the President;
Well, our
2009 show season has come to an end;
congratulations to our big year-end
winners: Katie Deater, high point
youth; Amber Burch,
high point amateur; Noble
Afire MFA, high point stallion;
Tuesday's Miracle, high point mare;
Tornado El Bey, high point gelding.
Katie and Tornado were also the
equitation winners, while Amber and
her mare "Pooh" won overall
high point horse and the
versatility award. Congratulations
also to Amber on being the recipient
of the SCCAHA scholarship for 2009;
she is a freshman at Grand Valley
studying marketing and we wish her
all the best. Don't forget our
banquet next month, where the board
will unveil some new and very
ambitious plans for 2010, including
some
sport horse classes if we can
figure out where to put them! We
have also made the decision to keep
our annual membership dues to $20,
eliminating the $30 higher fee after
the first of the year. We are also
considering lowering our entry fees
and adding some new items to our
Rewards program, which is becoming
more popular every year. Members opt
out of taking ribbons and trophies
at the shows, and instead get
goodies like director's chairs,
jackets, sheets, bridle bags, saddle
cases, and gift certificates at our
banquet. And if you show two horses,
you can combine your points; they
really do add up!!!! We plan to keep
the sponsorship fee at $30, which
entitles you to compete for year-end
awards in EVERY CLASS on the
showbill. The plaques are absolutely
gorgeous and something to treasure
always. Hope to see you next year,
and don't forget we love to hear
your comments.
